If LADLE doesn't work in your browser, this page is where to look first. We test on the browsers listed below before every release; issues in unsupported browsers close as won't-fix.
Fully supported
Known limitations
- Safari on macOS: streaming responses (SSE) had an issue that caused message drops during long generations. Fixed 2026-05-20 (see /status/incidents). If you're on Safari < 17.4, upgrade.
- Firefox private browsing: IndexedDB is disabled in some private modes, breaking chat history. Chats work but don't persist between page loads.
- Older iPad OS (16 and below): performance is degraded on chats over 100 messages. Upgrade to iPadOS 17+ recommended.
- In-app browsers (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook): partial support. SSE works but file uploads may fail. Open in Safari/Chrome for full functionality.
Not supported
- Internet Explorer 11 — Microsoft ended support in 2022; no plans to support.
- Chrome / Edge versions older than 6 months — modern JavaScript features required.
- Opera Mini, UC Browser — these use server-side rendering that breaks SSE.
- Browsers with JavaScript disabled — LADLE requires client-side rendering.
What we test before every release
A manual smoke test on Chrome latest (macOS + Windows), Firefox latest (macOS), Safari latest (macOS + iOS), and Edge latest (Windows). Test path: sign-in → send a message → attach a file → navigate to Projects → open account settings → sign out. Any regression blocks the release.
Reporting browser bugs
Bug in a supported browser: help@ladle.chat with subject “browser bug” and include (1) browser name + version, (2) OS + version, (3) what you did, (4) what happened. We reply within one business day. See /status for known issues before filing.
