1. Filing a takedown notice (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3))
Send the notice by email to legal@ladle.chat with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Notice.” The notice must contain all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized agent.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (title, registration number if applicable, and a link to an official version).
- Identification of the material on LADLE that is claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail to permit us to locate the material (URLs are ideal).
- Your contact information: address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
Incomplete notices will be returned with a request for the missing elements. Complete notices are actioned within 3 business days.
2. Filing a counter-notice (17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3))
If we removed your content in response to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was in error, send a counter-notice to legal@ladle.chat with subject line “DMCA Counter-Notice.” The counter-notice must contain:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the U.S., the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
After we receive a valid counter-notice, we’ll notify the original complainant. If they don’t file a court action within 10-14 business days, the removed material is restored.
3. Repeat infringers
LADLE PBC maintains a repeat-infringer policy: accounts that receive multiple valid DMCA notices within a 12-month period are subject to termination. Termination for repeat infringement is a policy, not a threat — we apply it consistently.
4. Designated agent
The designated agent for DMCA notices is:
LADLE PBC — Legal
Email: legal@ladle.chat
Postal address available on request via legal@ladle.chat
LADLE PBC is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office DMCA Designated Agent directory; the electronic filing and physical-address record is maintained there.
KNOWINGLY MATERIALLY MISREPRESENTING INFRINGEMENT UNDER SECTION 512 IS ITSELF A VIOLATION OF LAW. FILE WITH CARE.
