Consumer AI products interact with an internet population that includes minors. LADLE's policy is to make the product age-gated, to detect and refuse harmful content, and to report abuse material as required by US law.
Minimum age
LADLE is intended for adults 18 and older. Users under 18 are not permitted to create accounts. During signup users attest to being 18+. Accounts we discover to belong to minors are deleted; refunds are issued.
Model safety
- Claude Sonnet (LADLE's underlying model) is trained with safety fine-tuning that refuses to generate sexual content involving minors, guides for grooming, or content that sexualizes minors. This applies whether the minor is depicted as fictional or real.
- Anthropic maintains constant refinement of these refusal boundaries; LADLE inherits the latest safety improvements as we update model versions.
- Our system prompt and safety filters do not weaken any of Anthropic's model-level protections. We only add to them.
CSAM reporting
In the US, providers of interactive computer services are required to report apparent CSAM (child sexual abuse material) to NCMEC's CyberTipline under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. LADLE complies with this obligation. Reports include the content, associated account identifiers, timestamps, and IP addresses. We do not perform generalized surveillance to search for CSAM — we act on reports and on filter hits.
How to report to us
If you encounter content on LADLE that appears to sexualize a minor: email trust-safety@ladle.chat immediately with the details. If you cannot email us, report directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline at cybertipline.org.
What we log and retain
Coordination with law enforcement
We respond to valid legal process (subpoenas, warrants, court orders) related to child safety investigations. Requests received without valid process are declined. Requests are logged in the annual transparency report by count and category.
