LADLE runs in any modern browser. Native apps exist for iOS and macOS today; Android and Windows are in progress. This page documents the current state honestly, including what native apps do that the web app doesn't and what to install today for the best experience per platform.
Platform status
Current shipping status per platform. Web is always the safest default.
iOS install
Open the App Store and search 'LADLE.' Or install as a Progressive Web App from Safari: visit ladle.chat → Share → Add to Home Screen. The PWA is functional but the native app has better keyboard handling and offline read-only access to your chat history.
macOS install
Two options. Mac App Store: search 'LADLE.' Direct download: ladle.chat/downloads → LADLE for Mac. The direct build is signed and notarized, same binary as the App Store version. Both auto-update on launch.
Android (beta)
Beta access is via TestFlight-equivalent invitation. Email support@ladle.chat from the address on your account; we'll add you to the beta and email a Play Store beta-track link. Public Play Store submission is scheduled for Q4 2026.
Windows (in development)
In development. Target: Q1 2027 in the Microsoft Store. Until then, run LADLE in Edge or Chrome — the web experience is fully featured. If you'd like to be notified when the Windows app ships, email support@ladle.chat.
Linux
No native Linux app is planned. Every distribution's browser (Firefox, Chromium, Chrome) runs LADLE. If you specifically want desktop-app behaviour, install as a PWA via Chrome/Chromium (menu → Install LADLE) — same feature set as the web.
PWA vs native — what's different
The native apps get you: system keyboard shortcuts, better foreground/background handling, offline read-only access to your chat history (for cross-referencing without a connection), and native share-sheet integration. Everything else — model, files, projects — is identical.
