Get a refund.
UPDATED 2026-08-01Email support with the reason. We refund in these cases without argument:
- A duplicate charge (Stripe occasionally double-processes; happens rarely). - A charge that continued after you successfully cancelled. - A first-month charge you're canceling within 7 days because LADLE genuinely wasn't for you.
For the third case (the 7-day try-it window), we refund the full $20. Your meal donation for that month is refunded as well — since the WFP transfer happens at end-of-month, we simply don't include your subscription in that month's batch. You paid nothing, we donated nothing on your behalf, no receipt-of-loose-ends.
If you're past the 7-day window but not close to end-of-cycle, we generally do not refund partial months. The reason: the meal accounting for the current cycle has been committed the moment your charge cleared, and the WFP batch runs at end-of-month regardless. Partial refunds break the meal-accounting math, and unwinding it after the fact creates false reconciliation entries in the ledger.
That said — if your situation is unusual (life event, technical inability to use the product, service outage that lasted meaningfully longer than a status incident should), email support and describe it. Most edge cases we resolve fairly, they just don't fit a public policy.
Refunds process within 5–7 business days back to the original payment method. If the original card is closed, Stripe will attempt bank-to-bank transfer where available; otherwise we can issue a check by mail (rare, US only).
