Update your payment method.
UPDATED 2026-08-01Settings → Billing → Payment method. Click "Update" to open Stripe's hosted payment form. Enter the new card details, save. The change takes effect immediately; the next billing cycle will use the new card.
We only accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB in supported regions). No PayPal, no ACH, no crypto, no invoicing. This isn't a values decision — it's what Stripe's card-only flow supports at our subscription price point without adding friction for the 98% of customers who pay with a card.
If your current card is close to expiration, Stripe's automatic card updater will usually try to get the new number from your issuer without you doing anything. It works about 70% of the time. If it doesn't, you'll get a "payment method needs updating" email a few days before renewal.
If a charge fails, Stripe retries three times over the following week. During the retry window, LADLE stays fully active — no interruption. After the third failure, the subscription is paused. You can update the card and unpause any time; there's no penalty and no reactivation fee.
If you want to add a backup payment method for automatic fallback, that's not currently supported — Stripe requires a single default. If your primary fails, you'll need to update the card manually before the next retry.
