Redoing the setup flow.
UPDATED 2026-08-07The onboarding flow — "Setting the Table" — normally runs once when you first sign up. Ten screens that capture your name, role, focus areas, response style, theme, custom instructions, memory consent, language, and plan interest. Every answer writes to a real profile field.
If your context has changed (new job, different focus, want to switch themes) and you'd rather refresh those choices than change them one-by-one in the individual settings panes, you can redo the whole flow:
1. Go to Settings → Account. 2. Scroll to the "Redo setup" row. 3. Click "Redo setup →." 4. LADLE clears your onboarding-completed flag and drops you back at step 1 of Setting the Table.
Redoing the flow does NOT delete anything. Your existing chats, projects, memories, and starred messages all remain. The redo just walks you through the ten screens again, and the answers you give overwrite the previous values on the same profile fields.
If you started the flow and want to bail without completing, hit Skip on each screen or close the tab. Your partial answers persist (LADLE tracks onboarding_step as a resume pointer), so the next time you visit /chat you'll pick up where you left off. To fully complete the redo, walk through to step 10 and click Start.
For finer control (only change your role, only change your theme), use the individual settings panes instead — Settings → Behavior for response style + custom instructions, Settings → Appearance for theme, Settings → Memory for memory toggle + list.
